Some Finds at Banana Republic

I cruised into Banana Republic yesterday after dropping off my wedding band to be repaired at the local jeweler down the street. The BR SAs were handing out mystery coupons and imagine my surprise when the one I chose was for 50% off. Whee! I scored some really cute items. I couldn't believe it, because for a few years now I have really been struggling with BR.

I got the Pleated Colorblock Skirt in both colorways. The bonus is it has pockets, the downer is it is not lined. This fits TTS and hit me just above my knee.

For the last two years I have mourned the death of the Maya Cardigan I got from J.Crew, It was shirred at the bust and a v-neck, but it was merino and that thing pilled and pulled/got runs like crazy, so much so it only lasted one season. Imagine my surprise when I found a similar version at BR, but in a  cotton blend, the Twist-Front Cardigan (runs TTS):

Then there are the shoes. I purchased two pair of the Ashley Bow Ballet Flats (run TTS), in black and, gulp, pumpkin. Yes, I did it. I branched out into a serious pop of color.

I'm not sure if I just got lucky but I was seriously happy with my purchase. It doesn't hurt that BR is always running a promo, though in some respects it's a roll of the dice because what one buys today might be cheaper tomorrow. One thing is true when it comes to BR: the next promo is always just around the corner.
